Terms of Service

Welcome to Sound Like, operated by Delta Metrics LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). By using Sound Like (the "Service") at soundlike.deltametricsai.com, our marketing page at deltametricsai.com/soundlike, or our iOS and Android apps, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

01Eligibility and Use

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sound Like. You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your use of the Service.

02The Service

Sound Like helps guitarists find amp and effects settings that approximate the tone of a given recorded song, translated to their own gear. The Service uses:

• A curated catalog of hand-researched tones for well-known songs;
• A web-research pipeline (Firecrawl + a large language model) that finds and extracts rig information from public web pages for songs not in the catalog;
• A deterministic rule engine that translates an artist's source amp + pickup settings into adapted knob positions for your specific gear.

The output is a recommendation, not an exact replica. Recorded tones depend on many factors we cannot model (room, microphone, post-production, the player's hands). You should treat Sound Like's output as a high-quality starting point and adjust by ear.

03Your Inputs and Outputs

You retain whatever rights you already had in the song titles, artist names, and gear preferences you type into the Service. You grant us a limited license to process those inputs in order to provide the Service.

The knob settings, descriptions, and playing tips that Sound Like generates are produced algorithmically. We make no claim of authorship over them and you are free to use them in your own playing, recording, or content. We make no warranty that they accurately reproduce any specific commercial recording.

04Acceptable Use

You may not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any third-party rights;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, accounts, or data;
• Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service except via our public API used in good faith;
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its output in a way that competes with us (we don't mind you using individual tones in your own playing or content);
• Submit inputs designed to harass real people, defame, or evade content rules;
• Reverse-engineer our rule engine in order to clone the Service.

We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms.

05Third-Party Trademarks

Sound Like references guitar, amplifier, pickup, and pedal brands (Fender®, Gibson®, Marshall®, Mesa Boogie®, Vox®, Orange®, PRS®, Friedman®, and many others) solely to describe gear factually. All such brand names and product names are trademarks of their respective owners. Sound Like is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to any of these companies. Use of these brand names does not imply any endorsement.

06Songs, Artists, and Recordings

Sound Like references songs and recording artists by title and name in order to describe gear setups associated with those recordings. The Service does not reproduce, stream, distribute, or play back any musical recording. No audio of any kind is hosted or transmitted by us. References to songs and artists are factual references used in the context of guitar education and gear discussion.

07Pricing and Subscriptions

Sound Like is free to download and includes a free tier (the tuner, metronome, chord & scale library, and a limited number of tone matches). Unlimited tone matching and the full toolkit are available through an auto-renewable subscription, Sound Like Pro.

• Plans. Sound Like Pro is offered as a Monthly and a Yearly auto-renewable subscription. The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Current prices are shown in the app before you purchase and may vary by region and over time.
• Billing & auto-renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Free trial. If you start a free trial and then subscribe, the trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions) or Google Play account settings after purchase. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
• Payments & refunds. All payments are processed by Apple or Google, not by Delta Metrics LLC. Refunds are handled under the applicable App Store or Google Play terms. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Your purchase is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms (or Google Play Terms of Service) and to this agreement and our Privacy Policy.

08Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the tones it produces will sound exactly like any reference recording. We do not warrant the accuracy of third-party data extracted from public web pages. We are not liable for any decisions you make about gear purchases, recording, or performance based on the Service's output.

09Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Delta Metrics LLC and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

10Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Delta Metrics LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or damages (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

11Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect and how we use it.

12Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes may be communicated by in-app notice or via the website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

13Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access (with or without notice) if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

14Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

15General

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Delta Metrics LLC concerning the Service.
